Teen Crisis Hotlines
Covenant House 
Every year, more than 50,000 kids and parents in crisis across the United States and Canada call the Covenant House Nineline, a national, toll-free crisis hotline which operates 24-hours a day. With a database of over 30,000 shelters and organizations, the Covenant House counselors can provide immediate crisis counseling and refer callers to help in their area. In addition, Covenant House has Substance Abuse Programs which offer help to youth addicted to alcohol or drugs.
 Girls and Boys Town National Hotline 
The Girls and Boys Town National Hotline is a 24-hour crisis, resource
and referral line. Accredited by the American Association of Suicidology,
the Hotline is staffed by trained counselors who can respond to your questions
every day of the week, 365 days a year.
 Oregon Partnership/Youthline 
Oregon Partnership's YouthLine is a free and confidential hotline, dedicated
to serving the youth of Oregon. Staffed entirely by youth, Oregon Partnership's
peer helpers are committed to providing compassion and support to anyone who calls.
All peer helpers participate in extensive and ongoing training to assist callers.
YouthLine's goal is to help callers arrive at solutions they help to create. The
YouthLine has an extensive database of information ranging from alcohol and drug
treatment options, to recreational alternatives, to referrals for other teen issues.
 Teen Line (Los Angeles, CA) 
Teen Line was established in 1981 for teens to help teens. For more than
10,000 troubled teenagers each year, Teen Line has been the place to call
to talk about problems. Teen Line does not offer therapy or advice or
ongoing relationships. It does provide a caring relationship within which
to consider the next step. Topics discussed include crisis intervention,
family life, cultural diversity, values clarification, sexuality, addictions,
abuse, self-destructive and life threatening behaviors. |
