Adolescence Directory On-Line (ADOL) 
The directory is an electronic
guide to information on adolescent issues. It is a service of the Center
for Adolescent Studies at Indiana
University.
Educators, counselors, parents, researchers, health practitioners,

Web resources for a variety of topics.

American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry 
The AAAP educates the public to influence public policy regarding
addictive illness and provides continuing education for addiction professionals.

American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry 
The AACAP promotes mentally healthy children, adolescents and families
through research, training, advocacy, prevention, comprehensive diagnosis
and treatment, peer support and collaboration.

American Academy of Family Physicians 
AAFP Web site, Familydoctor.org,
gives background information on substance abuse and tips for recognizing
the signs of drug and alcohol use. An affiliate of Phoenix House, ACDE
and Children of Alcoholics Foundation provide science-based substance abuse

American Academy of Pediatrics 
The American Academy of Pediatrics and its member pediatricians dedicate
their efforts and resources to the health, safety and well-being of infants,
children, adolescents and young adults.

American College of Emergency Physicians 
The American College of Emergency Physicians presents clinical and policy
information for professionals and offers helpful consumer information
for families via their Web site.

American Council for Drug Education 
An
affiliate of Phoenix House, ACDE and Children of Alcoholics Foundation
provide science-based substance abuse prevention literature and educational
services.

network.

American Psychiatric Association 
The American Psychiatric Association presents clinical and policy information
for professionals. The Public Information area on their Web site offers
free topical pamphlets on a variety of mental health and drug abuse
issues.

for professionals. The Public Publications area on their Web site offers
free topical pamphlets on a variety of issues.

American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) 
ASAM is the nation's medical specialty society dedicated to educating
physicians and improving the treatment of individuals suffering from alcoholism
and other addiction.

Healthfinder.com 
Healthfinder® serves as a gateway consumer health information web site
developed by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
Parents can use this site to find online information to address specific
concerns about the health and well-being of their adolescents. Their Web
site offers a drug-digest, medical dictionary, health database and advice
for parents on drug abuse.

KidsHealth and TeensHealth 
KidsHealth is the largest and most visited site on the Web providing
doctor-approved health information about children from before birth
through adolescence. KidsHealth has separate areas for kids,
teens and parents each with its own design, age-appropriate content and tone. There are
literally thousands of in-depth features, articles, animations, games,
and resources - all original and all developed by experts in the health
of children and teens.

National Adolescent Health Information Center 
The goal of NAHIC is to improve the health of adolescents by serving
as a national resource for adolescent health information and research
and to
assure the integration, synthesis, coordination and dissemination of
adolescent health-related information.

National Alliance for Hispanic Health 
NAHH
is the oldest and largest network of health and human service providers
servicing over 10 million Hispanic consumers throughout the United States.

National Medical Association 
The NMA promotes the collective interests of physicians and patients
of African descent. They serve as the collective voice of physicians of
African descent and a leading force for parity in medicine, elimination
of health disparities and promotion of optimal health.

The National Mental Health Association is the country's largest nonprofit
organization addressing all aspects of mental health and mental illness.
Their Web site offers fact sheets on mental health and substance abuse.
