How does the Parents@Work program benefit employers? |
A: By making anti-drug information available to your employees, you are helping your business's bottom line. The vast majority of human resource professionals say they believe that employees who have children with substance abuse problems are more likely to suffer from decreased productivity and higher absenteeism rates. Also, all materials are free and can be easily customized to meet the needs of your employees/members and your organization's communications channels. Many resources can be downloaded and printed right from this Web site, while others can be ordered free of charge by calling 1-800-788-2800.

How will my employees/members benefit from this program? |
A: Getting free anti-drug information at work can help employees keep their teens drug-free. Teen drug use is a serious problem. Two-thirds of youth ages 13 to 17 say losing their parents' respect and pride is one of the main reasons they don't smoke marijuana or use other drugs. And kids who learn about the risks of drug abuse from their parents or caregivers are less likely to use drugs than kids who do not.

I want to implement a workplace prevention education program for employees at my company. Where can I get help? |
A: Workplace prevention programs, commonly called drug-free workplace programs, help businesses increase productivity, boost bottom lines and manage risk. They also send a clear message that employers care about the health and safety of their employees. The U.S. Department of Labor’s Working Partners Web site offers a number of tools and resources to help employers develop such programs, including information about how to develop a drug-free workplace policy from start to finish and ready-to-use training and educational materials.
