Youth, Education & Family Organizations
Afterschool.gov 
Offers one-stop access to government resources that support after school
programs. The site is designed for anyone who cares about kids 6-18-providers,
parents, and kids and teens. You can find information to help you understand
the issues that face kids and teens or fund, start and operate an after
school program.
 American
Youth Work Center 
A non-profit organization
dedicated to helping people help youth. Past issues of their publication,
Youth Today, have been dedicated to juvenile justice issues and adolescent
substance-abuse treatment programs.
 Child
Welfare League of America 
The Child Welfare League of America is the nation's oldest and largest
membership-based child welfare organization. They are committed to engaging
people everywhere in promoting the well-being of children, youth, and
their families, and protecting every child from harm. Their Web site
provides behavioral health information for families on many topics including
drug
and alcohol abuse.

Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America 
CADCA is a
membership-driven organization that gives anti-drug and drug-related violence
coalitions
technical assistance and support.

This site provides parents of children and adolescents with a wide variety
of information, including parenting tips and expert advice.

Fighting Back 
The Fighting Back Project, created
by the RWJ Foundation to test the hypothesis that a broad collaboration
of community elements could develop a central strategy to harness and
focus their collective resources to significantly reduce their most serious
substance
abuse problems.

MADD 
MADD’s mission is to stop drunk driving, support
the victims of this violent crime, and prevent underage drinking.

National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy 
The
goal of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is to reduce
the rate of teen pregnancy by one-third between 1996 and 2005. Their

provides useful information for teens, parents and professionals in
the field about both teen sex and drugs.

National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education 
The National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education advocates
the involvement of parents and families in their children's education
and fosters relationships between home, school and community to enhance
the education of all our nation's young people.

National Crime Prevention Council 
The National Crime Prevention Council is the nation’s focal point
and voice for crime prevention.

National Education Association 
The NEA is the nation’s leading organization committed to advancing
the cause of public education.

National Families in Action 
Their mission is to help families and communities prevent drug use among
children by promoting policies based on science.

National Middle School Association 
NMSA has been a voice for those committed to the educational and developmental
needs of young adolescents. It is the only national education association
dedicated exclusively to the growth of middle level education.

National PTA 
Offers a small number of parent-focused publications for talking to your
kids about drugs.

Parenting Resources for the 21st Century 
This site links parents and other adults responsible for the care of
a child with information on issues covering the full spectrum of parenting.
This site, federally sponsored through the Coordinating Council on Juvenile
Justice and Delinquency Prevention and addresses topics that include school
violence, child development, home schooling, organized sports, child abuse
and the juvenile justice system.

Perspectives on Youth 
A forum for those that work with youth to exchange viewpoints, research
and experiences with others that strive toward a common goal: promoting
the well being of youth.
