 Live

Parents, grandparents, and mentors everywhere are getting involved in the lives of children to keep kids drug-free. Whether at home, school or play, your presence as a caring adult makes a difference in the life of a child.

There are so many ways you can help keep kids in your community off drugs. Here are a few resources to get you started:

Boys & Girls Clubs of America and YMCA
It's a simple fact: kids with something to do are less likely to do drugs. You can help your community and kids who need safe after-school activities by volunteering with these organizations.

Dads and Daughters and 100 Black Men
Even when fathers do not live at home, children whose fathers are actively involved in their lives tend to have fewer behavioral problems. (Source: Child Development.) By giving of themselves, dads and other dedicated men can make a difference.

Youth Service America and Shine
Whether it's volunteering in their community, or taking a stand against violence, children and youth who learn respect for themselves and others are less likely to do drugs. As a caring adult, you can help them learn these all-important values.
