American Academy of Chiled and Adolencent Psychatry

As the leading national professional medical association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is dedicated to treating and improving the quality of life for children, adolescents and families affected by mental, behavioral or developmental disorders. This nonprofit organization widely distributes information in an effort to promote an understanding of mental illnesses and remove the stigma associated with them.


AAFP

As one of the largest national medical organizations, the American Academy of Family Physicians represents more than 94,000 family physicians, family medicine residents and medical students nationwide. Founded in 1947, its mission has been to preserve and promote the science and art of family medicine and to ensure high-quality, cost-effective health care for patients of all ages.


AANP

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners formed in 1985 to provide NPs with a unified way to network and advocate for NP issues. AAPA The American Academy of Physician Assistants is the only national organization that represents Physician Assistants. AASA Advocates for high quality public education for all children, The American Association of School Administrators continues supporting school systems across the United States. American College of Emergency Physicians American College of Emergency Physicians is a national medical specialty society representing emergency medicine with more than 25,000 members. ACEP is committed to advancing emergency care through continuing education, research and public education. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, ACEP has 53 chapters representing each state, as well as Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. A Government Services Chapter represents emergency physicians employed by military branches and other government agencies.

ACE As the major coordinating body for all the nation's higher education institutions, the American Council on Education seeks to provide leadership and a unifying voice on key higher education issues. They hope to influence public policy through advocacy, research and program initiatives.

ADA The American Dental Association has more than 155,000 members making it the oldest and largest national dental association in the world. AFTRA

American Federation of Television & Radio Artists represents a partnership between 41 national cable networks and over 8,500 local cable companies that work together to provide free cable connection and commercial-free educational programming to schools across America.


The American Legacy Foundation

The American Legacy Foundation is a public health foundation whose mission is to build a world where young people reject tobacco and anyone can quit.  The foundation’s truth® campaign, credited with 22 percent of the decline in youth smoking in the campaign’s first two years, was launched in February 2000.  truth® is the largest national youth smoking prevention campaign not directed by the tobacco industry.


The American Lung Association 

The American Lung Association is the leading organization working to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. The association funds vital research on the causes of and treatments for lung disease. With the generous support of the public, the American Lung Association is “Improving Life, One Breath at a Time.”


American Medical Association  American Medical Association aims to promote the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health. Vision: To be an essential part of the professional life of every physician. The American Medical Association helps doctors help patients by uniting physicians nationwide to work on the most important professional and public health issues.

American Pharmacists Association  American Pharmacists Association, dedicated to helping all pharmacists improve medication use and advance patient care, is the first-established and largest association of pharmacists in the United States.

The American Psychiatric Association  The vision of the American Psychiatric Association is to provide a society that has available, accessible quality psychiatric diagnosis and treatment. Member physicians work together to ensure humane care and effective treatment for all persons with mental disorders, including mental retardation and substance-related disorders.

ASCA 

ASCA supports school counselors' efforts to help students focus on academic, personal/social and career development. The association prepares students to achieve success in school and lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society. ASCA provides professional development, publications, resources, research and advocacy to more than 17,000 professional school counselors around the globe.


ASHA 

The American School Health Association is a multidisciplinary organization of administrators, counselors, health educators, physical educators, psychologists, school health coordinators, school nurses, school physicians, and social workers. Its mission is to protect and promote the health and well-being of children and youth through coordinated school health programs as a foundation for school success.


American Society of Addiction Medicine 

American Society of Addiction Medicine is an association of 3,000 physicians dedicated to improving the treatment of alcoholism and other addictions, educating physicians and medical students, promoting research and prevention, and enlightening and informing the medical community and the public about these issues.


Asian American Recovery Services 

The purpose of Asian American Recovery Services, Inc. is to decrease the incidence and impact of substance abuse in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities of the San Francisco Bay Area. To accomplish this goal, Asian American Recovery Services, Inc. develops and provides innovative outreach, treatment, prevention and research services for its target populations.


The Asian Community Mental Health Services  The Asian Community Mental Health Services provides multi-cultural and multi-lingual services empowering the most vulnerable members of the community to lead healthy and self-sufficient lives. Their vision is to grow as a responsive and innovative organization, embracing diversity and compassionate care, setting the standard of excellence for integrated services to Asian & Pacific Islander communities.

The ASPIRA Association  The ASPIRA Association, Inc. is the only national nonprofit organization devoted solely to the education and leadership development of Puerto Rican and other Latino youth. ASPIRA takes its name from the Spanish verb aspirar, "aspire." Since its founding, ASPIRA has provided a quarter of a million youth with the personal resources they need to remain in school and contribute to their communities.

AMERSA 

Association for Medical Education and Research in Substance Abuse is a national multidisciplinary organization of health care professionals dedicated to improving education and research about alcohol and other drugs, while fostering a multicultural approach to prevention, intervention, and treatment.


Boys & Girls Clubs The Boys & Girls Clubs programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. The clubs are safe places for youth to learn and grow, while having fun.

Cable in the Classroom Founded in 1989, Cable in the Classroom is the national education foundation of the U.S. cable industry. It works to foster the use of cable content and technology to expand and enhance learning for children and youth nationwide.

Cable in the Classroom The Center for College Health and Safety assists colleges and universities in developing, implementing, and evaluating prevention policies and programs to address a broad range of health and safety issues at higher level institutions. These programs include research in preventing abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, violence and injuries, and high-risk sexual activity.

The Child Welfare League of America The Child Welfare League of America is the nation's oldest and largest organization devoted entirely to the well-being of America's vulnerable children. CWLA is an association of nearly 800 public and private nonprofit agencies that assist more than 3.5 million abused and neglected children and their families each year with a range of services, including programs in positive youth development, substance abuse prevention and treatment, adolescent pregnancy prevention, teen parenting, and more.

Children Now Children Now is a research and action organization dedicated to assuring that children grow up in economically secure families, where parents can go to work confident that their children are supported by quality health coverage, a positive media environment, a good early education, and safe, enriching activities to do after school. In partnership with the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, Children Now created www.talkingwithkids.org, a national initiative to encourage parents to talk with their children earlier and more often about tough issues like sex, HIV/AIDS, violence, alcohol, and drug abuse.

Common Sense Media Common Sense Media provides family reviews and ratings of media and entertainment choices for kids and families, including movies, television, and video games. As a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, it provides information and tools, as well as an independent forum, for families interested in choosing the media they consume.

CITA 

CTIA—The Wireless Association is an international organization representing all sectors of wireless communications – cellular, personal communication services and enhanced specialized mobile radio. As a nonprofit membership organization founded in 1984, CTIA represents service providers, manufacturers, wireless data and Internet companies and other contributors to the wireless universe. CTIA is proud to support the Media Campaign’s messages to parents and teens.


Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America  Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America is a national organization dedicated to reducing substance abuse and violence through prevention and treatment strategies. CADCA's staff and its coalition members have successfully advocated for a bipartisan political support of community-based strategies for substance abuse prevention.

Dads & Daughters  Dads and Daughters is the national advocacy nonprofit for fathers and daughters.  DADs inspires fathers to actively and deeply engage in the lives of their daughters and galvanizes fathers and others to transform the pervasive cultural messages that devalue girls and women.

ETS""  ETS is the world's largest private educational testing and measurement organization. As a nonprofit corporation, their mission is to advance quality and equity in education by providing fair and valid assessments, research and related services for all people worldwide. Their products and services measure knowledge and skills, promote learning and performance and support educational and professional development.

Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities 

Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities represents more than 400 colleges and universities committed to Hispanic higher education success in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America and Spain, and it is the only national educational association that represents Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). Thousands of young Hispanics benefit from HACU with internships, scholarships, college retention and advancement programs, pre-collegiate support and career development opportunities and programs.


IBH  IBH encourages greater progress by focusing on national policies that emphasize prevention and investment in better treatment approaches, reducing substance abuse through the power of good ideas. A non-partisan and non-political organization, IBH serves as a catalyst for change by encouraging dialogue and cooperation among government agencies, nonprofits, research institutions and grassroots community groups.

i-SAFE  Founded in 1998, i-SAFE Inc. is the leader in Internet safety education, partnering with the Federal Trade Commission. Its mission is to educate and empower youth to make their Internet experiences safe and responsible.

Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol-Free 

Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free is a unique coalition of Governors’ spouses, Federal agencies, and public and private organizations, focused on preventing the use of alcohol by children ages 9 to 15. It is the only national effort that focuses on alcohol use in this age group. The initiative was founded by The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), and has been joined by additional Federal sponsors.


Mothers Against Drunk Driving  Since being founded in 1980 by Candy Lightner and a small group of other mothers, MADD has grown to one of the largest crime victims organizations in the world.

The National African American Tobacco Prevention Network 

The National African American Tobacco Prevention Network serves as a national organization dedicated to facilitating the development and implementation of comprehensive and community competent tobacco control programs to benefit communities and people of African descent. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, it provides services to over 200 members and organizations.


National Association for Children of Alcoholics  National Association for Children of Alcoholics is a nonprofit organization working to raise public awareness of the issues surrounding children of alcoholics and other substance abusers. NACoA distributes educational information to help adults help children growing up in substance abusing families.

NAAPIMHA 

The National Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Association advocates on behalf of Asian American and Pacific Islander mental health issues. They serve as a forum for effective collaboration and networking among community- based organizations, consumers, family members, service providers, program developers, researchers, evaluators and policy makers. Moreover, their community-based and national collaborative efforts increase the likelihood of developing comprehensive, culturally competent services to meet the needs of AAPI communities.


The National Asian Pacific American Families Against Substance Abuse  The National Asian Pacific American Families Against Substance Abuse is a private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to addressing the alcohol, tobacco and other drug issues of Asian American and Pacific Islander populations. Founded in 1988, NAPAFASA involves service providers, families and youth in efforts to promote health, social justice and reduce substance abuse and related problems.

NAATP 

The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers’ mission is to promote, assist and enhance the delivery of ethical, effective, research-based treatment for alcoholism and other drug addictions. They have assumed a strong leadership role on behalf of treatment providers in areas such as treatment standards, education, research and advocacy of legislative, regulatory and reimbursement positions.


National Association for the Advancement of Colored People 

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination. The primary focus of the NAACP continues to be the protection and enhancement of the civil rights of African Americans and other minorities.


National Association of Asian and Pacific American Education  Established in 1977, the National Association of Asian and Pacific American Education addresses the educational issues and needs of Asian and Pacific Americans. With the help of educators and the community, the association promotes the inclusion of Asian and Pacific American history and culture in the school curriculum. In addition, they support research on Asian and Pacific American educational issues and encourage Asian and Pacific Americans for leadership roles.

NACDS 

The chief purpose of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores is to represent the views and policy positions of member chain drug companies. This purpose is accomplished through the programs and services provided by the association.


National Association of School Nurses 

National Association of School Nurses is a non-profit organization which trains, educates, and advocates on behalf of school nurses. More than 14,000 members are working everyday to promote student health and learning; to provide a critical safety net for the most fragile children, and to enable children with chronic health conditions to attend school.


National Association of Secondary School Principals 

The National Association of Secondary School Principals serves education leaders in middle and high school, including administrators, teachers, and students. Since 1916, NASSP has been promoting excellence in school leadership across the United States and in more than 45 countries around the world.


National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse 

The National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors, Inc., is a private, not-for-profit educational, scientific, and informational organization. NASADAD's basic purpose is to foster and support the development of effective alcohol and other drug abuse prevention and treatment programs throughout every state.


The National Cable and Telecommunications Association 

The National Cable and Telecommunications Association is the principal trade association of the cable television industry in the United States. NCTA represents cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation’s cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks, as well as equipment suppliers and providers of other services to the cable industry. NCTA is a proud supporter of the Media Campaign.

The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization supported largely by private donations. Since its inception in 1996, the National Campaign has helped the nation achieve a nearly one-third reduction in teen pregnancy.


National Center for Fathering 

National Center for Fathering conducts research on fathers and fathering to develop practical resources to prepare dads for nearly every fathering situation.  The mission of the National Center for Fathering is to improve the well-being of children by inspiring and equipping men to be more effectively involved in the lives of children.


National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse 

The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University is the only nationwide organization that studies and combats abuse of all substances in all sectors of society, under one roof. Founded in 1992, the nonprofit organization informs Americans of the economic and social costs of substance abuse by replacing shame and despair with hope.


National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information 

National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information is the information service for U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. NCADI is a valuable resource for current information and materials concerning substance abuse.


NCPIE  National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education is a coalition of over 125 diverse organizations whose mission is to stimulate and improve communication of information on appropriate medicine use to consumers and healthcare professionals. NCPIE is the nation's leading authority for informing the general public and health care professionals on safe medicine use through better communication. Better medicine communication can lead to better health outcomes and improved quality of life.

The National Council  The National Council is the oldest and largest community behavioral health trade association, and the only trade association representing the providers of mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability services. Their members serve more than 4.5 million adults, children and families each year and employ more than 250,000 staff.

National Crime Prevention Council  National Crime Prevention Council is a nonprofit educational group formed to address the causes of crime and violence and reduce the opportunities for crime to occur. NCPC was founded in 1982 to manage the National Citizens' Crime Prevention Campaign and to administer the Crime Prevention Coalition of America.

NEA  The National Education Association, the nation's largest professional employee organization, is committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA's 3.2 million members work at every level of education - from pre-school to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliate organizations in every state and in more than 14,000 communities across the United States.

National Families in Action  National Families in Action's mission is to help families and communities prevent drug use among children by promoting policies based on science. The organization publishes many publications and resources to help parents reduce illicit drug use. They also produce www.parentingisprevention.org which gives advice for parents on keeping their kids drug-free and safe.

National Family Partnership  National Family Partnership is the sponsor of the National Red Ribbon Campaign which is now the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to help citizens come together to keep children, families and communities safe, and to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a drug-free America.

National Fatherhood Initiative  National Fatherhood Initiative's mission is to increase the number of committed fathers in order to improve the well being of children. NFI continues to make its mark through public awareness campaigns, research, and other resources. Since its inception in 1994, it continues to equip and develop leaders of national, state, and community fatherhood initiatives through curricula, training, and technical assistance.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration under the U.S. Department of Transportation is dedicated to helping communities reduce the threat of drunk and drug impaired drivers. NHTSA's www.stopimpaireddriving.org program provides partners and communities with resources to prevent impaired driving. NHSTA also sponsors National Drunk and Drugged Driving Awareness Month in December.

The National Indian Health Board  The National Indian Health Board is a nonprofit organization representing tribal governments that advocates for improvements in health care for American Indians and Alaska Natives. NIHB has played a major role in focusing attention on Indian health care needs over the last 29 years, resulting in progress for all 558 federally-recognized tribes.

The National Inhalant Prevention Coalition  The National Inhalant Prevention Coalition promotes awareness and recognition of the under-publicized problem of inhalant use.

NIDA  The mission of the National Institute on Drug Abuse is to lead the nation in bringing the power of science to bear on drug abuse and addiction. This involves conducting and supporting research on a broad range of disciplines and disseminating the findings from the research to improve drug abuse and addiction prevention, treatment and policy.

National Institute on Media and the Family  The National Institute on Media and the Family is the world's leading and most respected research-based organization on the positive and harmful effects of media on children and youth. Since 1996, the organization has worked tirelessly to help parents and communities "watch what our kids watch." Its mission is to maximize the benefits and minimize the harm of media on the health and development of children and families.

National Latino Behavioral Health Association  National Latino Behavioral Health Association was established to fill a need for a unified national voice for Latino populations in the behavioral health arena. It hopes to bring attention to the great disparities that exist in areas of access, utilization, practice-based research and adequately trained personnel. As part of its mission, NLBHA is using the national agenda and action plan created at the National Congress for Hispanic Mental Health as guideposts in improving the mental health and substance abuse needs of Latino families and communities.

The National Latino Behavioral Health Association 

The National Latino Children’s Institute is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to focus the nation’s attention on Latino children and empower communities for the full and healthy development of young Latinos in a culturally relevant environment. Started in 1994, the institute is the only Latino organization with young Latinos as its primary emphasis.


The National Medical Association  The National Medical Association promotes the collective interests of physicians and patients of African descent. They serve as the collective voice of physicians of African descent and a leading force for parity in medicine, elimination of health disparities and promotion of optimal health.

The National Student Assistance Association 

The National Student Assistance Association was founded in 1987 by professionals who where concerned about the problems of student substance abuse, violence and academic under achievement. Today NSAA represents the interests of thousands of student assistance professionals across the United States.


The National Urban League  Established in 1910, the National Urban League is the nation's oldest and largest community- based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. The mission of the Urban League movement is to enable African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights.

Parenting Coalition Internation  Parenting Coalition International supports the professional development needs and interests of parents, parenting practitioners, and those working to strengthen families.

Parents Television Council  The Parents Television Council is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that advocates family-friendly programming and responsible entertainment. It was founded in 1995 to voice its concerns to network executives, advertisers, public policy leaders, and the creative community in Hollywood.

The Partnership for a Drug-Free America 

The Partnership for a Drug-Free America is a nonprofit coalition of communication, health, medical and educational professionals working to reduce illicit drug use and help people live healthy, drug-free lives.


Pathway Family Center 

Pathway Family Center succeeds in helping youth and families overcome teen substance abuse and behavioral problems. Pathway has a track record of success in helping youth in the worst kind of trouble and parents who are at their wit's end in how to help.  Our professional and caring staff understand teenagers, see their strengths and potential, and can help.


PTA 

PTA comprises nearly 6 million parents and other concerned adults devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of parent involvement in schools. PTA is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that prides itself on being a powerful voice for children, a relevant resource for parents, and a strong advocate for public education. Membership in PTA is open to anyone who is concerned with the education, health, and welfare of children and youth.

The Society for Human Resource Management is the world's largest association devoted to human resource management. SADD  SADD has grown to become the nation's dominant peer-to-peer youth education and prevention organization with thousands of chapters in middle schools, high schools and colleges.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration  The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration mission within the National Health System is to improve the quality and availability of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation services to reduce illness, death, disability and cost to society resulting from substance abuse and mental illness. SAMSHA's mission is accomplished in partnership with all concerned with substance abuse and mental illness.

The United Negro College Fund  The United Negro College Fund is the nation's largest, oldest, most successful and comprehensive minority higher education assistance organization. UNCF provides operating funds and technology enhancement services for 39 member historically black colleges and universities. For over 60 years, the United Negro College Fund has raised more than $2 billion to help a total of more than 350,000 students attend college and has distributed funds to help minorities attend school.

The Department of Health and Human Services  The Department of Health and Human Services is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves. HHS includes more than 300 programs, covering a wide spectrum of activities including food and drug safety, and substance abuse treatment and prevention.

The Department of Health and Human Services  The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is a public health agency that oversees consumer items, and is responsible for assuring the safety and security of most food products, human and animal drugs, biological products, medical devices, cosmetics, etc. The FDA is also responsible for helping the public get the accurate, science-based information they need to use medicines and foods to improve their health.

USHCC  The USHCC Foundation is committed to the purpose of giving Latino entrepreneurs alternatives for life preparation and life-long learning by developing and implementing initiatives and educational campaigns to awaken and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit. The Foundation builds alliances, partnerships and collaborative efforts to link Latino youth to educational programs. It develops and enhances their critical thinking and entrepreneurship skills, helping Latino youth expand their horizons locally and nationally.

Web Wise Kids  Web Wise Kids is an online resource educating parents, communities and kids about Internet safety. Since 2000, Web Wise Kids has been committed to preventing online child victimization by providing innovative and effective tools to assist youth to stay safe online by addressing issues like piracy, fraud, online romances, bullying, social networking, blogging, cyber stalking, online predators, identity theft, and more.

The Writers Guild of America 

The Writers Guild of America is the collective bargaining representative, or labor union, for writers in the motion picture and television industries in the United States. As of 2003, it claims more than 11,000 members nationwide.


YMCA 

The YMCA has a longstanding commitment to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. With more than 2,200 YMCA member organizations reaching almost 17 million people across the United States, the YMCA is a valued community institution whose local organizations are responsive to the individual needs of the cities and towns they serve. The Campaign has forged a partnership with the YMCA to incorporate drug-prevention resources and messages into the YMCA's after-school program curriculum. The collaboration will ensure that basic substance abuse prevention training is provided for all YMCA program staff in communities throughout the country, and that Campaign messages are incorporated into a customized area on the YMCA Web site.
