CSAP's mission is to provide national leadership in the Federal effort to prevent alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug problems. CSAP connects people and resources to innovative ideas and strategies, and encourages efforts to reduce and eliminate alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug problems both in the United States and internationally. CSAP fosters the development of comprehensive, culturally appropriate prevention policies and systems that are based on scientifically defensible principles and target both individuals and the environments in which they live.

The National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACoA) believes that none of these vulnerable children should grow up in isolation and without support. NACoA is a national nonprofit membership organization working on behalf of children of alcohol and drug dependent parents. To help in those efforts, NACoA: publishes a bi-monthly newsletter; creates videos, booklets, posters, and other educational materials; hosts a website with information about and ways to help children of alcoholics and other drug dependent parents; sends information packets to all who ask; and maintains a toll-free phone available to all.

NCADI is the world's largest resource for current information and materials concerning substance abuse.

The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence provides education, information, help and hope in the fight against chronic, often fatal disease of alcoholism and other drug addictions. Founded in 1944, NCADD is a voluntary health organization with a nationwide network of attitudes. NCADD advocates prevention, intervention, research, and treatment and is dedicated to ridding the disease of its stigma and its sufferers from their denial and shame.

NIDA supports over 85 percent of the world's research on the health aspects of drug abuse and addiction. NIDA supported science addresses the most fundamental and essential questions about drug abuse, ranging from the molecule to managed care, and from DNA to community outreach research.

The principal purpose of ONDCP is to establish policies, priorities, and objectives for the Nation's drug control program, the goals of which are to reduce illicit drug use, manufacturing, and trafficking; drug-related crime and violence; and drug-related health consequences. To achieve these goals, the Director of ONDCP is charged with producing the National Drug Control Strategy, which directs the Nation's anti-drug efforts and establishes a program, a budget, and guidelines for cooperation among Federal, State, and local entities.

The Partnership for a Drug-Free America is a private, non-profit, non-partisan coalition of professionals from the communications industry. Best known for their national, anti-drug advertising campaign, their mission is to reduce demand for illicit drugs in America through media communication. PDFA's focus is on "unselling" drugs to children through media communication, and that's what the Partnership is all about: preventing drug use among kids.
